Gutter Cleaning

Gutter Cleaning in Sugar Land, TX

We clear the debris out, flush the downspouts, and clean the outside faces so those black stripes running down your gutters actually disappear. Most companies only do the first part.

Why Gutters Matter More in Houston

Fort Bend County averages around 50 inches of rain a year, and much of it arrives in short, intense downpours rather than steady drizzle. A clogged gutter cannot move that volume, so water sheets over the edge and lands where you least want it: against your foundation.

That matters here more than most places. Southeast Texas sits on expansive clay soil that swells when wet and shrinks when dry. Uneven moisture around a slab is one of the leading causes of foundation movement in this region — and repeatedly dumping stormwater in one spot next to the house is exactly how that starts.

Beyond the foundation, blocked gutters cause rotted fascia boards, soaked and ruined landscaping beds, water intrusion behind siding, and standing water in the trough that becomes a mosquito breeding site within days in our climate.

What a Full Gutter Cleaning Includes

  • Hand removal of all debris from the gutter trough — leaves, shingle grit, twigs, nests.
  • Downspout flushing to confirm water actually runs through and exits where it should.
  • Debris hauled away — we do not leave piles in your beds or on the lawn.
  • A quick condition report if we spot loose hangers, separated seams or sagging sections.
  • Gutter brightening available for the exterior faces (see below).

Gutter Brightening: The Part Most Companies Skip

Those vertical black stripes running down the front of your gutters are not dirt, and they will not wash off with a hose or a standard pressure rinse. It is oxidation — a chemical bond of airborne pollutants, roof grit and degraded aluminum finish that has adhered to the surface.

Removing it takes a specific brightening detergent applied to the gutter face, given dwell time, then agitated and rinsed. It is genuinely a separate process from clearing debris out of the trough, which is why plenty of gutter companies do not offer it at all.

It is also the difference customers notice most from the street. Clean gutters that are still streaked black look, from the curb, exactly like dirty gutters.

How Often in This Climate?

Twice a year suits most Sugar Land homes — late fall after the leaves drop, and again in spring after pollen season and the wind-blown debris that comes with spring storms.

Homes with mature oaks or pines directly overhead often need quarterly attention. Homes with gutter guards still need periodic checks; guards reduce debris but do not eliminate it, and fine grit still accumulates underneath them.

What does gutter cleaning cost?

Linear footage and number of stories are the main factors, along with how much debris has built up and whether there are gutter guards to work around.

Gutter brightening is priced separately since it is a different process. Bundling it with a house wash is usually the best value.
